Fucheng Hero Marathon 2027

Fucheng Hero Marathon 2027 brings road runners to Tainan's Anping waterfront for a coastal race based at Sunset Platform (Guanxi Platform), beside the fishing harbour and the southern end of Sicao Bridge. Organised by the Fucheng International Ultramarathon Association, the event combines a full marathon and half marathon with shorter community road races. The organiser-supplied current race listing gives Sunday, 21 March 2027 as race day.

The marathon route heads from Sunset Platform through Anping streets and across the Sicao area, passing the Taijiang National Park visitor centre and continuing into the Tainan Technology Industrial Park before turning back via coastal roads, fishing ponds and the historic Luermen Tianhou Temple area. The half marathon uses a shorter circuit linking Anping, the Sicao waterfront and the Luermen side of the district. These routes offer a mixture of urban streets, harbour approaches and exposed coastal stretches rather than a closed park loop.

The shorter routes stay closer to Anping and Taijiang National Park. The organiser's published route text measures the nominal 10K course at approximately 10.4 km and the nominal 5K course at approximately 5.5 km. Participants should check the final course instructions rather than assuming their watch will record exactly the advertised category distance.

The published timetable has the marathon and half marathon starting together at 06:00, followed by the 10K at 06:10 and 5K at 06:15. Listed finish limits are 14:00 for the marathon, 10:00 for the half marathon, 08:30 for the 10K and 07:30 for the 5K. Capacity is limited to 800 marathon entrants and 500 runners in each shorter category.

Chip timing is included for the three longer categories; the 5K is untimed. Runners can expect an event shirt and bib, with finishers receiving a medal, refreshments, a meal and a results certificate. The longer two categories receive a bath towel, while the 10K and 5K receive a smaller towel. A separate refundable timing-chip deposit applies to marathon, half marathon and 10K entries.

Date verification note: An older 2027 event banner still shows 21 February, but the current detailed race listing and independent race calendars show 21 March. Confirm the final date directly with the organiser before making non-refundable travel plans. Race-pack collection details have not yet been reliably published.
