Event Detail

Kinmen Marathon 2027 marks the 20th edition of one of Taiwan's established destination road races, bringing a two-day programme to Jincheng Township on 16-17 January 2027. The milestone edition is organised by Kinmen County Government, with the competitive races on Sunday recognised on the AIMS calendar. Across both days the organiser has capacity for up to 15,800 participants, including 8,800 places in the marathon, half marathon and 10K programme.

Saturday is devoted to the 4 km recreational run and walk at Jincheng Athletic Stadium, with separate 07:30 and 07:35 starts. The main competition begins on Sunday from the plaza in front of the Kinmen-Matsu Joint Services Center. The marathon starts at 06:50 and has a 6 hour 30 minute limit, the half marathon starts at 07:00 with a five-hour limit, and the 10K starts at 07:10 with a two-hour limit. The full-marathon route loops through Kinmen on roads including Huandao North Road, Boyu Road and the Cihu area. County material highlights Qionglin village, Cihu and Shuangli Lake among the course's distinctive settings, linking the island's battlefield history, traditional Minnan settlements and natural landscape.

General competitive registration is open until 17:00 on 30 October 2026 or until quotas fill. Entry is NT$1,000 for the marathon, NT$900 for the half marathon and NT$800 for the 10K. The separate 4 km recreational programme costs NT$200. Competitive entrants receive chip timing, a race bib and commemorative singlet. Official finisher benefits include a medal, large sports towel, local meal, electronic certificate and a commemorative local souvenir.

Race materials can be collected at the Kinmen County Sports Development Center in Jincheng from 14-16 January, and authorised proxy collection is permitted with identification. Taiwan-only delivery can also be selected in advance. Baggage storage is provided for the three competitive races. Prize money is substantial, with marathon overall winners receiving NT$150,000 each, plus additional incentives and age-group awards. Runners travelling to Kinmen should allow time for island transport and monitor the organiser's final race-week notices.
