Event Detail
The 2026 Pingtung Marathon is a road-running festival in southern Taiwan, bringing marathon runners, families, walkers and adaptive-sport participants together at Pingtung County Athletics Stadium in Pingtung City. Organised by Pingtung County Government and delivered by Chuan Tung Sporting Goods, the Sunday 8 November programme includes a full marathon, half marathon, 11 km challenge, and 5 km recreational run or walk. The organiser also schedules wheelchair starts for the 11 km and 5 km divisions.
Race-morning programme
The venue opens at 05:00, when bag storage is scheduled to begin. After the pre-race warm-up, the full and half marathons are flagged off at 06:00, followed by the 11 km wheelchair division at 06:05, the open 11 km at 06:10, the 5 km wheelchair division at 06:15 and recreational running and walking at 06:20. The starting gate closes at 06:30; runners arriving after that time cannot begin.
Time limits and safety
The published limits are 6 hours 30 minutes for the marathon, 3 hours 30 minutes for the half, 2 hours 30 minutes for the 11 km and 1 hour 30 minutes for the 5 km. The organiser also operates intermediate marathon cut-off points and provides a race-day emergency assistance service. Participants should follow the route marshals, official course restrictions and the latest event notices.
Getting ready
The race venue is at No. 9 Shengli Road, Pingtung City. The organiser advises arriving at least an hour early because of parking congestion and recommends public transport where practical. Registered runners should check their race materials in advance: the organiser states that receipt of the supplied pack counts as check-in, so runners should bring their bib and any timing chip rather than expect a separate race-morning registration process.
An electronic finisher certificate can be accessed through the QR code on the bib after completion; finishers claim applicable event gifts at the venue by showing their bib. Registration closed on 27 August 2026 according to the official entry provider. Entrants should consult its current instructions for detailed course diagrams, road controls, adaptive division requirements and any final amendments.
