Tainan Half Marathon 2027

Tainan Half Marathon 2027 is the 21st edition of one of southern Taiwan's established city road races, returning on Sunday, 7 March 2027 with a field of 25,000 runners. The event is a full member of AIMS and the 2027 edition uses the theme "Crossing 21" as it moves beyond its 20th-anniversary milestone. Demand has been strong: all 25,000 entries sold out within 15 days of registration opening in September 2026.

The programme comprises a 21.0975 km half marathon, 10 km race and 5 km run. Current-edition course information emphasises Tainan's historic urban character, with runners moving through old-city streets and towards the Anping waterfront and Yuguang Island areas. The setting combines heritage neighbourhoods, port scenery and the coastal side of the city rather than using a closed circuit.

The field is capped at 10,500 runners for the half marathon, 9,500 for the 10K and 5,000 for the 5K. Current launch material also highlights a dedicated student incentive within the 10K, with awards of up to TWD 5,000, while the 5K includes an accessibility initiative under which eligible runners with disabilities can enter without the normal registration fee, subject to the organiser's deposit conditions. The organiser has announced a first event partnership with Saucony for this edition.

Participant merchandise announced for 2027 includes a Saucony event shirt, finisher towel and a detachable magnetic finisher medal. Organisers are also using pre-race activities to connect the event with Tainan's food culture, including a public vote linked to local night-market food planned for race support. Pre-race training sessions and professional pacing support have also been announced.

The event base is at the Tainan City Government Yonghua Civic Center in Anping District. Detailed race-pack collection arrangements and the complete per-distance race-day timetable have not yet been published in the final participant guide, so registered runners should check the latest organiser instructions before race week.
