31st Thai Sikh Run 2027

The 31st Thai Sikh Run returns to Bangkok's historic old city on Sunday, 31 January 2027. Organised by Sri Guru Singh Sabha, the event has been part of Bangkok's running culture since 1992 and is a full member of AIMS. The 30th edition drew a record 4,800 participants, giving the 2027 race a strong established field while retaining its community and charity focus.

The 21.1K half marathon starts and finishes on Burapha Road beside The Old Siam Plaza. The AIMS-measured route runs through Rattanakosin's historic core, passing the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Sanam Luang and the Bangkok City Pillar Shrine before crossing the Chao Phraya River on Pinklao Bridge. Runners continue past Central Plaza Pinklao and onto the Borommaratchachonnani elevated road, turn near Taling Chan Post Office, then retrace the route to the finish. The 10K follows the same opening section across Pinklao Bridge before turning near Central Plaza Pinklao. The non-competitive 4K stays on the old-city side of the river and loops around Rattanakosin Island.

The half marathon starts at 03:30 and closes at 07:00, giving runners 3 hours 30 minutes. The 10K begins at 04:30 with a 2 hour 30 minute limit, while the 4K starts at 05:15 and also closes at 07:00. The early timetable keeps most running before Bangkok's daytime heat, although runners should still be prepared for warm, humid conditions.

Course support includes water approximately every 2 km and first-aid coverage. The half marathon also has toilets plus electrolyte drinks and fruit at selected points. The programme combines competitive road running with accessible community participation, and the 4K is explicitly non-competitive. Net proceeds after expenses are designated for a Thai Red Cross charity campaign.
