Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2026

The Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2026 Powered by Li-Ning brings runners to the UNESCO-listed coastline of Ha Long, Quang Ninh, on Sunday 22 November 2026. Organiser DHA Vietnam advertises a largely flat, traffic-controlled coastal course designed for fast running, with the race recognised under the World Athletics Label Road Race programme. The wider event and exhibition programme runs 20–22 November, but the four running distances take place on Sunday.

2026 routes and practical arrangements

The officially announced distances are 42.195 km marathon, 21.0975 km half marathon, 10 km and 5 km. The 5 km is a genuine 5 km event, not 4.2 km as previously stated in this listing. The organiser locates the principal race site at the Quang Ninh Exhibition of Planning and Expo Center on Tran Quoc Nghien Street, in Ha Long's Hon Gai district. The published race rules place the start for every distance, and the shorter-distance finishes, near October 30 Square; half-marathon and marathon finishers are directed towards the nearby Dolphin Palace area. Participants should follow their issued 2026 start-pen and finishing instructions rather than assuming all distances end at the same point.

The 2026 competition rules specify 6.5 hours for the marathon, 3.5 hours for the half marathon, 2 hours for the 10 km and 1.5 hours for the 5 km. Runners must pass all required timing mats. The organiser's race-information page advises arriving at the start at least 30 minutes before the relevant flag-off. Exact individual starting times should be checked against the final 2026 athlete guide and official social announcements, rather than inferred from the site's general race-day timetable.

Age requirements, registration and race packs

The organiser's race-information page states minimum ages of 18 for the marathon, 16 for the half marathon, 12 for the 10 km and 5 for the 5 km. However, its detailed race rules describe the 5 km minimum as 7, with an exception for younger children accompanied by parents. Families should obtain confirmation directly from the organiser before entering younger runners.

The officially promoted final late-registration pricing window was 1 September to 15 October 2026. That date does not prove whether any exceptional or reopened entries remain available; check the official booking portal directly and do not rely on earlier advertised fee tiers. Confirmed entrants are told their race-kit collection arrangements by email, rather than through a universally announced collection time and venue. The organiser also advertises route refreshments, medical support, chip timing and photography. Travelling runners should confirm traffic restrictions, their individual start time and accommodation arrangements before departure.
