Event Detail
Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon - Heritage Race is one of Vietnam's major capital-city road races and returns in November 2026 as part of the international Standard Chartered marathon series. The event grew from the Hanoi International Heritage Marathon first staged in 2018, became an AIMS member in 2019 and is recognised by World Athletics. It has also participated in the Abbott World Marathon Majors Age Group Ranking system since 2022. Organisers expect around 18,000 domestic and international runners in 2026.
The main race programme covers the full marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K, with a separate 2.1K Kids Dash for children aged 5 to 9. The 2026 race weekend runs across 7-8 November, with the main adult road races on Sunday 8 November. Thong Nhat Park is the official Event Village and Race Expo venue. Long Bien Bridge has been selected as the event's official 2026 heritage icon, reflecting the race's focus on Hanoi's history and cityscape. Final 2026 course maps and the precise start and finish locations are still awaiting organiser publication, so runners should check the official race site again before travel.
Published race rules set cut-off limits of six hours for the marathon, three hours 30 minutes for the half marathon, two hours for the 10K and one hour 30 minutes for the 5K. Timing is handled by Sportstats Asia using a chip attached to the race bib. Course support is planned at roughly 3-4 kilometre intervals, with water, electrolyte drinks, bananas and first-aid support. Pacers are also part of the race-day service.
Baggage should be checked in at least one hour before each runner's start. The organiser supplies a checked-bag sticker and advises participants not to leave valuables, fragile goods or prohibited items. Official race photography is provided free to participants.
Race-kit collection is scheduled through the official Race Expo at Thong Nhat Park, although exact collection hours remain to be announced. Runners should bring their registration QR code and original identification, with additional documentation required for minors or authorised collection. The 2026 race shirt and finisher medal both use Long Bien Bridge-inspired artwork. International runners should also note the organiser's requirement to provide Hanoi accommodation details at least three weeks before race day if they are not staying at an official partner hotel.
