Techcombank Hanoi International Marathon 2026

The 5th Edition of the Techcombank Hanoi International Marathon takes place in Hanoi on Sunday, 4 October 2026. Organised by Sunrise Events Vietnam under the direction of Hanoi authorities, the event is expected to attract about 14,000 runners and has grown into one of the capital’s signature mass-participation road races.

The marathon is the signature course. It starts beside Ba Kieu Temple Garden in central Hoan Kiem, runs through the Old Quarter and past major capital landmarks including Hoan Kiem Lake, the Hanoi Opera House, St Joseph’s Cathedral and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, then loops around West Lake. Runners cross Nhat Tan Bridge into Dong Anh, return across Dong Tru Bridge and continue through Long Bien to finish at Vinhomes Riverside. The route is point-to-point rather than a simple city-centre loop, so runners should plan their pre-race and post-race transport accordingly.

The adult programme begins with the 42.195K marathon at 04:00, followed by the 21.1K half marathon at 04:30, the 10K at 06:30 and the 5K at 06:50. The published finish windows are 10:45 for the marathon, 08:45 for the half and 10K, and 08:05 for the 5K.

Race Kit collection takes place before race day at the Marathon Village on Chu Huy Man Street in Long Bien. The organiser has published final check-in instructions, current course maps, race-day briefing material, bag-drop guidance, parking information and a Marathon Village map for the 2026 edition. A separate Kids Run programme is held on Saturday, 3 October.

Registration and the waiting list are now closed. Runners already entered should use the final official 2026 athlete information rather than older edition material, as the organiser has continued publishing race-week updates in the days immediately before the event.
