Event Detail
Thai Nguyen Trail - Xu Tra Son Cuoc 2026 (Thái Nguyên Trail - Xứ Trà Sơn Cước) is a new destination-focused trail-running event scheduled for Saturday 7 November 2026 in La Bằng Commune, Thái Nguyên Province, northern Vietnam. Organised by the province's tourism promotion and development centre, the event combines off-road running with the striking tea-growing landscapes and local culture of the eastern Tam Dao foothills.
Running through tea country
The organiser confirms 5 km, 15 km and 25 km courses for male and female runners. Routes are intended to showcase green tea hills, mountain scenery, rural communities and distinctive visitor attractions around La Bằng. They are presented as a sporting and cultural experience rather than a conventional flat urban road race. Final 2026 course maps, elevation profiles, aid-station arrangements and detailed safety rules had not been posted on the official portal when this draft was prepared, so do not assume a particular elevation gain or level of technical difficulty.
The event is part of the lead-up to Thai Nguyen International Tea Festival 2026. The provincial government expects approximately 500 entrants, subject to capacity and eligibility, and views the race as an opportunity to develop sports tourism, highlight local tea heritage and introduce visitors to the area's communities and landscapes.

Getting to the event
La Bằng lies west of the Thái Nguyên urban area near the Tam Đảo mountain foothills. Travelling runners should organise transport and accommodation in advance, allow for rural access roads and wait for the organiser's final start/finish location and race-pack collection instructions. The map position is an approximate commune-level reference, not a verified start line.
Prizes
1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for men and women in each of the 5K, 15K and 25K divisions; prize details subject to final event bulletin.
