Event Detail
Yen Tu Heritage Marathon returns for its third edition in late November 2026, bringing road runners into one of northern Vietnam's most important cultural and spiritual landscapes. The event is staged at Yen Tu in Uong Bi, Quang Ninh, the historic centre of the Truc Lam Zen Buddhist tradition and now part of the Yen Tu World Cultural Heritage landscape. The organiser lists the 2026 event across 28-29 November, with the main road races on Sunday, 29 November and a Kids Run included in the weekend programme.
The race offers 42K, 21K, 10K and 5K distances. Current 2026 registration material confirms the categories and age requirements, while the detailed event schedule, exact 2026 route maps and aid-station plan are still being updated. A current event listing gives a 04:00 race start for the main race day; the organiser's own registration page has not yet published the complete category-by-category timetable.
Yen Tu is a distinctive destination race because the running experience is tied closely to the surrounding heritage area rather than a conventional city-centre course. The previous edition used paved forest roads through the Yen Tu heritage zone, passing religious and cultural sites before reaching areas around Yen Trung Lake. That prior route should be treated as background only until the organiser publishes the final 2026 course, but it gives runners a useful sense of the event's terrain and setting.
Registration uses staged pricing through late November. The organiser has set age minimums of 18 for the marathon, 16 for the half marathon, 14 for 10K and eight for 5K. Runners should monitor the official event channels for the final race schedule, route maps and race-pack collection details.
