The BioLite Dash 450 is a rechargeable headlamp designed specifically for road and trail running. Its slim front housing is 10 mm thick and the complete light weighs 78 g, with the electronics integrated into the moisture-wicking headband to reduce front-heavy movement.
The lamp produces up to 450 lumens and combines a focused spot beam reaching a stated 90 metres with a 15-metre flood beam for nearby terrain. Front modes include dimmable spot, flood and combined lighting, plus white strobe and red flood. A rear red light, reflective band printing and rear strobe mode improve visibility from behind. The 1000 mAh lithium-ion battery charges by USB-C and is rated for up to three hours on high or 60 hours on low, with a one-hour five-lumen reserve mode.
IPX4 resistance covers splashes rather than immersion, so this is not intended for underwater use. Runners should select brightness according to route conditions and duration, and carry backup lighting for remote overnight outings. Brightness memory and lock mode help avoid unwanted setting changes.
