A second chest-strap choice
Garmin HRM 200 provides real-time heart-rate and heart-rate-variability data to compatible watches, equipment and apps. It adds an alternative to the Polar H10 in the sensor range. The HRM 200 is a transmitting chest strap; it does not replace a GPS watch or provide a standalone workout display.
Garmin's Singapore specifications list a replaceable CR2032 battery and up to 12 months of battery life at one hour of use per day. It is not rechargeable. The module can be removed so the strap can be machine washed according to Garmin's care instructions.
Choose the strap size first
Garmin offers XS–S and M–XL versions. The published chest-fit ranges are 60–85cm and 80–119cm, respectively. Measure your chest and check the exact size offered by the seller; the Singapore manufacturer reference linked below shows the M–XL variant.
Try the strap during an easy session and check that it maintains comfortable contact. Follow the manufacturer instructions for wearing, electrode contact and cleaning rather than overtightening it to solve a pairing issue.
Compatibility is more than a Bluetooth logo
The owner manual distinguishes secure and open connection types. Secure Bluetooth connections require compatible Garmin devices; Garmin recommends the open connection type for pairing with third-party watches, tablets and fitness equipment. Open connections include ANT+ and some Bluetooth connections.
Check your exact watch and app before buying. Garmin's manual explains how to use the module button for waking, pairing and toggling connection type. Pairing procedures vary by receiving device. Test recording through your intended setup before an important workout.
HRM 200 versus advanced Garmin straps
Buy the HRM 200 for the functions verified for this model. Do not assume the advanced running or swimming features advertised for HRM 600 are included merely because both products have HRM in the name. Decide which data you need and confirm it against the model documentation.
