The INOV8 TRAILFLY MAX (original version, not MAX V2) is a cushioned trail-running shoe designed for longer outings and ultras on firm, rocky ground. Its FLYSPEED Pro nitrogen-infused midsole and BOOMERANG footbed aim to maintain comfort over prolonged running, while a graphene-enhanced G-GRIP outsole with 4 mm lugs addresses grip on mixed hardpack and rock. An ADAPTERFLEX groove helps the sole move with uneven terrain. The breathable air-mesh upper has MET-CRADLE overlays to secure the midfoot and heel.
INOV8 lists a 24 mm heel and 18 mm forefoot midsole stack, 6 mm drop and a 300 g reference weight. The shape widens towards the toes, with standard and wide fit options, making fit selection especially important for long runs as feet swell. It is better matched to hard and moderately loose trails than deep, sticky mud, where taller lugs can be preferable. Its protective cushioning may also feel less agile than a low-profile race shoe on highly technical turns.
