The Oura Ring 4 is a screen-free fitness tracker designed for continuous day-and-night wear. Its sensors monitor heart rate, heart-rate variability, blood oxygen, temperature trends and movement, feeding sleep, activity and readiness insights into the Oura app. Automatic activity detection recognises more than 40 activities, while iOS and Android compatibility makes it usable across the two major phone platforms.
The fully titanium ring has a smooth interior with recessed sensors. Oura lists a width of 7.90 mm, thickness of 2.88 mm and weight of 3.3–5.2 g depending on size. Battery life is quoted at 5–8 days, charging typically takes 20–80 minutes, and water resistance extends to 100 metres.
For runners, the Ring 4 is best viewed as a recovery and wellness companion rather than a replacement for a GPS sports watch. It has no display for live pace or navigation, and fit must be checked with the correct sizing kit.
