A mapping-focused running watch
The Suunto Race 2 combines a 1.5-inch AMOLED display, dual-band GPS and downloadable offline maps. Suunto describes route planning through its app, navigation tools and more than 115 sport modes. The model provides another option for runners who want route information and training records on the wrist.
Suunto's published maximum is 55 hours in Performance mode with its best multi-band GPS accuracy. The separately advertised 200-hour Tour mode uses lower GPS accuracy and turns heart-rate tracking off. These figures describe different settings and must not be treated as equivalent endurance.
Who should compare it?
Consider this watch if route preparation and map viewing are useful parts of your training. For straightforward short runs, compare the cost and size with a simpler running watch before paying for features you may seldom use.
Try the watch on and check whether the screen and controls suit your wrist. Decide how you will review workouts and whether the Suunto app fits the services you already use. Feature lists cannot establish that a watch will be comfortable for an entire long event.
Preparation for trail running
Prepare the intended maps and routes before leaving mobile coverage. Practise starting an activity, changing display pages and navigating a familiar route before relying on the watch in unfamiliar terrain.
Plan a battery margin instead of treating a laboratory maximum as a guaranteed finish time. Display settings, sensors, environmental conditions and actual use can affect endurance. A route line and GPS position also require judgement when trails are closed, flooded or unsafe.
Buying in Asia
Suunto provides an Indonesia-facing product page and an official Singapore store listing for the exact Race 2 model. Confirm that a seller offers Race 2 rather than the original Race or smaller Race S. Material, colour and warranty options need to match the selected listing.
The Indonesia button is a tracked Shopee search, not a verified seller. The Singapore store link is direct. No current price or guaranteed stock is asserted.
