Event Detail

The fourth Lianyungang 168 Super Trail Race (连云港第四届168超级越野赛) brings a demanding mountain-and-coast ultrarunning challenge to Jiangsu Province from 30 October to 1 November 2026. The organiser calls this edition Shanhai Lianyun, Trail Journey to the West, drawing on Lianyungang's association with the classic Chinese tale and the varied hills, forest paths and coast around the port city. The race hub, start and finish are at Xinghai Lake Park in Haizhou District.

Courses and cut-offs

All three races are scheduled to start together at 05:00 China Standard Time on Friday 30 October. The headline Journey to the West 168K advertises roughly 6,000 m of climbing and a 48-hour limit, finishing by 05:00 on Sunday 1 November. The Mountain and Sea 100K has approximately 4,000 m of climbing and a 24-hour limit; the Great Sage 50K has approximately 2,500 m of climbing and a 12-hour limit. These are serious trail events with long climbs, exposed terrain and overnight running for the longer distances. The organiser has applied for ITRA points (6, 5 and 3 respectively); award of points remains subject to approval. ARC's current selectors cover 50K and 100K, while the separate 168K category is documented here rather than mislabelled.

Eligibility and race rules

Entrants must meet the published 18–60 age requirement, provide the relevant recent completion records and observe the medical eligibility rules. The 168K requires a 100K trail finish within the preceding two years; 100K runners need two recent 50K trail finishes or three full marathons; 50K runners need two full marathons from the last year. The organiser also requests a recent health examination. Timing uses electronic chips and compulsory checkpoints; missed checkpoints, failing the mandatory-kit check or exceeding intermediate cut-offs can end a runner's race.

Race-week preparation

Race-pack collection is scheduled for Thursday 29 October, 09:30–18:00, provisionally at the 7th-floor lobby, Block C, Shanshui Lijing Plaza, Yuzhou South Road, Haizhou District. A technical briefing is scheduled there for 18:00. The organiser says it will advise participants by SMS at least three days ahead if collection details change.

Runners must carry their bib, charged phone, at least one litre of drink capacity and personal nutrition. The 100K/168K also require a headtorch, spare power and waterproof/windproof jacket; 168K entrants additionally need warm long trousers. The organiser supplies GPS trackers for the two longer races. Aid and medical points are advertised approximately every 5–10 km, including hot food and night-time shelter at designated stops. Withdrawals must be reported at a checkpoint; do not leave the course unaccounted for.

Entry is non-transferable and normally non-refundable. Follow the organiser's final participant notices for route, equipment and collection updates.
