Wuyishan Marathon 2026

Wuyishan Marathon 2026 returns on Sunday, 22 November for the event's tenth-anniversary edition, with 12,000 runners expected across the marathon and half marathon. The race is staged in Wuyishan, Fujian, a destination known for Wuyi Mountain National Park and its UNESCO-listed cultural and natural landscape. Both races start together at 07:30 China Standard Time from Wuyi Square.

The marathon field is capped at 2,000 runners and covers 42.195 km, while the half marathon has 10,000 places over 21.0975 km. The full marathon leaves Wuyi Square via Dawangfeng North Road and Chongxi East Road, continues through areas including Ziyang Avenue, Wuyi University, An'guo Avenue and the Lantang section, then returns to finish at Wuyi Square. The half marathon shares the opening roads before using a shorter return and finishing at Wuyi Hancheng. The route mixes urban roads with the wider Wuyishan tourism landscape, giving travelling runners a race closely tied to the area's mountains, tea culture and heritage setting.

All runners start from a single gun at 07:30 after check-in from 06:00 to 07:15. The half marathon has a three-hour overall limit and the marathon a six-hour limit. Intermediate closures apply at 5 km intervals and other published control points. Timing uses disposable chips with mats at the start, every 5 km, turning points and each finish. Official support includes drink or water stations roughly every 2.5–5 km, food stations from 12.5 km onward, mobile toilets, medical points, ambulances and mobile AED support. Start-area baggage deposit closes 15 minutes before the gun; half-marathon bags must be collected by 11:30 and marathon bags by 14:30.

Current general entry is CNY 150 for either distance. The live registration platform lists entries as open until 18:00 on 31 October 2026 unless capacity is reached earlier. Current registration is restricted to Chinese nationals, including eligible Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan entrants, and applicants must provide recent qualifying race results for their chosen distance.

Finishers inside the time limit receive a commemorative medal and towel and can download a result certificate. Cash awards are published for the top eight men and women in each distance, headed by CNY 20,000 for the marathon winner and CNY 10,000 for the half-marathon winner. Exact 2026 race-pack collection arrangements have not yet been published in the current material reviewed, so they are not carried forward from previous editions.
