Wenzhou Marathon 2026

Wenzhou Marathon 2026 is the ninth edition of Wenzhou's flagship city road race, first launched in 2015. The organiser has expanded the field to 18,000 runners for 2026, with 5,000 places in the 42.195K marathon and 13,000 in the 21.0975K half marathon. Both races are scheduled for Sunday, 22 November, starting at 07:00 from Century Square in central Wenzhou and finishing at Wenzhou International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The published course framework crosses Lucheng, Ouhai and Longwan districts, but the organiser has not yet released the final detailed route map, so runners should use the official race guide when it is issued.

Registration opened on 8 September and was officially extended to 24 September at 17:00 China Standard Time. If applications exceed capacity, places are allocated by ballot. Marathon applicants must be at least 20 years old and provide qualifying race results from the preceding 24 months. Half-marathon applicants must be at least 18 and must also meet the organiser's recent-race qualification requirements. The event additionally provides direct-entry pathways for selected long-time Wenzhou Marathon participants, leading finishers from the 2025 race and a limited group qualifying through Zhejiang Marathon points, although those runners still had to submit an application during the official registration window.

The event is described by local organisers as Wenzhou's largest and most influential city road race. Nearly 60,000 people pre-registered for the 2025 edition, which ultimately hosted about 17,000 runners, and the 2026 field adds another 1,000 places. The 2026 race is currently going through China Athletics Association Class A certification, so that status remains pending rather than already confirmed.

For 2026 the marathon has also announced its first partnership with adidas, covering race apparel, finisher equipment, course support and post-race recovery. Detailed race-pack collection arrangements, the final course map and the current-edition prize schedule had not yet been published in the organiser material checked, so participants should follow the official Wenzhou Marathon channels for those race-week updates.
