Event Detail

The 2026 Jinhua Jinyi Lake Half Marathon is a 21.0975 km road race around the newly developed Jinyi Lake district in Jinhua, Zhejiang Province. Scheduled for Sunday 8 November 2026 at 08:00 China Standard Time, it starts and finishes at the Jinyi Cloud Butterfly Centre in the Jinyi Lake Science and Technology Innovation Hub. Organisers have announced 5,000 half-marathon places, making this a substantial city-region event rather than a small local fun run.

A lakeside course built for running

The course follows paved roads and greenways around Jinyi Lake, linking nine distinctive landscapes in the area's ecological restoration and innovation district. Local reporting identifies Qingcui Hill, the maple-lined Qiufeng Port area and Jinhua University of Technology among the route highlights. One unusual feature is the section that enters the university campus after approximately 10 km, offering a change from the waterfront scenery.

The route has been described by Jinhua Daily as entirely asphalt, with no gravel or stone-paved stretches, a road width of about 6–13 metres and approximately 52 metres of cumulative elevation gain. Those published figures suggest a relatively gentle road course suitable for runners targeting a steady half-marathon effort. Participants should nevertheless study the final organiser-issued route and any changes to access or road closures.

Race background and practical planning

The event is organised under the Jinhua Municipal People's Government, with the Jinyi New Area/Jindong District administration and Jinhua Sports Bureau involved in delivery. The official website identifies Zhejiang Dafeng Sports Culture Development as the operating company and the Zhejiang Marathon and Road Running Association as a guiding body.

The Jinyi Lake precinct was transformed through ecological restoration and now combines wetlands, a substantial lake, greenways and research facilities. The organisers have unveiled a 2026 commemorative finisher medal, with design references to the area's Dongyang woodcarving tradition.

Registration originally opened on 11 September 2026 via the official event website. The published entry cap makes availability uncertain close to race day; runners should verify their entry, bib collection instructions, participation rules and any late changes directly with the organiser. The start/finish complex is in Jindong District, not central Jinhua, so allow time to reach it before the 08:00 start.
