Event Detail
The Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank Jinshan-Pinghu Half Marathon and Shanghai-Zhejiang Rural Half Marathon 2026 offers a genuinely unusual course: one 21.0975 km road race crossing the provincial-level boundary between Shanghai's Jinshan District and Pinghu in Zhejiang Province. First established as a cross-border countryside run in 2018, it combines two neighbouring rural communities in one continuous half marathon. The event starts at 8:30 am on Sunday 15 November from Caolang Road outside Langxia Ecological Park, which also serves as the finish. The organisers have capped the field at 4,000 participants.
A route through two provinces
The course begins in Shanghai's Langxia Town, heads along Jinlang Road and neighbouring lanes, crosses into Guangchen Town, Pinghu, and loops back towards Langxia. Named sections include Xiangyou Road, Zhuping Road, Nongchuang Avenue and Shantang Centre Road. Rather than a downtown skyscraper course, the defining scenery is the agricultural landscape, village roads and local communities of the Yangtze River Delta. Shanghai authorities report that more than 20 points along the route have received landscape or roadway improvements. The race has received Chinese Athletics Association B-class certification.
Entry and eligibility
The published entry fee was CNY 150, with registrations initially offered on a first-come, capacity-limited basis via Guolong Sports and its approved partners. Participants must be at least 18 in the event year and provide qualifying finish evidence from the preceding 24 months: either a half or full marathon completed in person, or two races of 10 km or longer, with at least one in person. Organisers also specify pre-event health requirements, which runners should read carefully. Check the official registration channel for current availability; an earlier invitation does not guarantee places remain.
Collection and race-day transport
The organiser announced bib and race-pack collection for 13 and 14 November, 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, at three locations: Bailian Nanfang Shopping Centre in Minhang, Bailian Jinshan Shopping Centre and Pinghu Sports Centre. Entrants were asked to nominate their collection site when registering. Paid return shuttles are advertised from Shanghai South Railway Station and Oriental Sports Centre (CNY 20), and from Jinshanwei Station and Pinghu Sports Centre (CNY 10); local Langxia short transfers are planned free of charge. Boarding-point instructions should be confirmed before race day.
The 2026 organisers have unveiled a purple participant shirt and a rotating finisher medal featuring mascots from both sides of the provincial boundary.
