Event Detail

CBRE HK50 2026 is the Hong Kong Island opening round of Action Asia Events' HK50 trail-running series, taking place on Saturday 17 October 2026. The race combines Hong Kong's wooded hillside paths, steep stairways and country-park trails with views over the island's densely built urban districts. The organiser offers three routes, from a shorter trail outing to a full ultra, with separate start arrangements.

Courses and race format

The headline 50K is approximately 52.4 km with 1,369 m of climbing according to the organiser's route summary. Solo runners and mixed four-person teams begin near The Peak Galleria, opposite the Peak Café, at 06:40. The course descends through the Peel Rise catchwater area, reaches Wong Nai Chung Gap, then continues through Sir Cecil's Ride, Braemar Hill, Mount Parker Road, the Hong Pak Country Trail and Quarry Bay Gap. Later climbs take in Mount Butler, Jardine's Lookout and Violet Hill before finishing at Wong Nai Chung Gap Children's Playground. The 50K has an 11-hour cut-off, with timed checkpoints at approximately 10.2, 24.9, 34.4, 43.4 and 46.4 km.

The 24K solo route is approximately 24.6 km with 509 m of climbing. It starts alongside the ultra at The Peak at 06:40, but finishes at Wong Nai Chung Gap after the first section, with a five-hour limit. The new 6K route is approximately 6.5 km with 292 m of ascent; it starts at Wong Nai Chung Gap at 08:00, loops through the Violet Hill and Wilson Trail area, and returns to the same finish within 2.5 hours. ARC currently has no exact 24K or 6K structured distance option, so those categories are described here without incorrectly assigning another distance.

Race-day planning

The organiser schedules race-day check-in for eligible overseas entrants from 05:45. The 50K and 24K have aid stations with water, electrolyte drinks and basic food, and the organiser transfers their labelled luggage from The Peak to the finish. Transport to the start is not included in entry fees; optional event buses can be purchased, with departure points including Admiralty, Prince Edward and Sha Tin. Runners should allow time for the early start and Hong Kong's October heat.

For the 50K and 24K, a hydration system with at least one litre of capacity is compulsory. Trail shoes with good grip are recommended, and participants must carry a visible bib and enough money or digital payment credit for emergency transport. The minimum age is 18 for the two longer distances; the 6K is normally for ages 13 and above, with younger participants permitted when accompanied by an adult.
