Event Detail
Hysan Island Hike & Run 2026 is Action Asia Events’ Hong Kong Island trail-running and hiking race, starting and finishing at the Green Lane Service Reservoir Sitting-Out Area in Happy Valley. The programme offers 23K, 15K and 6K courses, all starting at 07:45 on Sunday, 8 November, with routes designed to give runners progressively different levels of climbing and technical trail.
The 23K is the most demanding option. It heads through Tai Tam Country Park and tackles the two peaks known as the Twins, with the organiser’s published route information showing roughly 23 kilometres and about 1,000 metres of climbing. The long course has intermediate checkpoint cut-offs and a six-hour overall limit. The 15K bypasses the Twins but still crosses hilly terrain around Tai Tam, Mount Butler and Jardine’s Lookout, with a five-hour limit. The 6K is the shortest route and climbs Violet Hill before returning to the finish, with a four-hour limit. Current organiser material notes that continuing construction at the Boa Vista track may require the 23K to be shortened to approximately 20K by omitting a three-kilometre loop, so runners should check the final route notice close to race day.
Runners must carry their own hydration system with at least 500 ml capacity, stay on the marked course, avoid littering and notify officials if withdrawing. Aid points provide water, electrolyte drink, fruit and simple snacks, while luggage storage and toilets are available at the start/finish area. Optional organiser buses are offered from Admiralty, Prince Edward and Sha Tin, and the event includes six organiser-led training sessions in the build-up.
Race-pack collection is scheduled from 2 to 6 November, 11:00 to 19:30, at the Action X Store in Sheung Wan. The organiser also publishes special race-day collection arrangements for eligible overseas, Macau and Mainland China participants, subject to its stated conditions.
