Event Detail

Oxfam Trailwalker 2026 is the 41st physical edition of one of Hong Kong’s best-known endurance fundraising events. The event traces its public history to 1986 and, over four decades, has combined a demanding team trail challenge with fundraising for Oxfam’s poverty alleviation, humanitarian and advocacy work. The 2026 edition also coincides with Oxfam Hong Kong’s 50th anniversary and introduces a special 20 km route alongside the classic 100 km challenge.

The headline 100 km event is completed in teams of four from Pak Tam Chung in Sai Kung to Harrow International School Hong Kong in Tuen Mun. Teams must finish together within 48 hours. Four start waves are scheduled for Friday, 20 November at 08:00, 09:30, 11:00 and 12:30. The route follows most of MacLehose Trail Sections 1 to 10 before using connecting trails and roads around Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail, Tai Tong and Tai Lam to reach the Tuen Mun finish. The organiser lists nine checkpoints plus one control point, and participants are encouraged to download the official GPX route in advance.

For Oxfam Hong Kong’s 50th anniversary, a separate 20 km team challenge takes place on Saturday, 21 November. It starts at Rotary Park Car Park on Tai Mo Shan, uses staggered 15-minute starts from 08:00 to 14:00, and finishes at the same Harrow International School venue. Teams of four have eight hours to complete the route.

Entry for the 100 km was ballot-based, with applications accepted from 6 to 20 May 2026. Successful teams pay a HK$1,600 team registration fee and commit to a minimum HK$8,000 fundraising target. Participants must be at least 18 years old for the 100 km event and carry valid identification.

Finishers can qualify for team and individual completion certificates under the published rules. The 100 km also recognises especially fast teams with a Super Trailwalker Certificate for all four members finishing within 18 hours, while speed and fundraising awards recognise leading teams and supporters.
