Event Detail
Run for Survival Ocean Park Hong Kong 2026 (生態保衛賽2026) takes place on Sunday 13 December 2026 at Ocean Park Hong Kong. The updated 2026 theme celebrates the protection of animal friends, biodiversity and the environment, with giant pandas, red pandas, dolphins and penguins represented by commemorative animal wristbands.
Race formats
- 5K timed individual with separate men’s and women’s age-group competitions: 16–34, 35–44 and 45–70 years. This is the sole competitively timed option.
- 4K Experience Run individual (ages 12–70): non-competitive, suitable for beginners and casual runners.
- 4K family experience: three-person package requiring an adult aged 18–70 and a child aged 11 or younger, plus a third member aged 3–70.
- 1K Little Conservation Heroes: three-person family category with the same required adult/child structure. One fourth teammate may be added for HK$600 according to the official booking site.
- New orienteering walk: a separate untimed individual navigation activity for ages 12–70. Participants need a smartphone with internet and photo capability. The walk’s course length has not been published, so it is not represented as a misleading 1K/4K/5K distance card.
Time windows (Hong Kong time): Running routes operate 6:30–9:30am, with run-wave preparation starting about 7:15am, followed by staggered starts. Specific race-category flag-offs are not separately confirmed, so 7:15am is not assigned to all categories. Orienteering sessions run noon–4:00pm, with assembly around 11:45am and 1:45pm. The park conservation carnival runs roughly 9:30am–5:30pm. Expect some hills and downhill paths inside Ocean Park, not a flat public-road race.
Registration closes 27 November 2026 at 11:59pm, or earlier if capacity fills. Early-bird prices are valid through 22 November 2026 at 11:59pm: HK$698 for 5K individual, 4K individual and orienteering walk; HK$1,800 for each three-person 4K or 1K family team. After the early-bird window, standard pricing is HK$798 individual / HK$1,950 three-person team. The individual orienteering price is included here rather than fabricated in a different-distance race card. Check the official registration page for live ticket stock.
All registrants receive event apparel and an animal-themed wristband as well as admission to Ocean Park on the competition day for that named registered participant only. Competitors who complete their routes receive an official finisher medal and electronic certificate. The timed 5K has age-group podium trophies; the 1K, 4K and orienteering activities do not have timed podiums.
Race packs are expected to be collected in early December, with the exact venue and time advised by organiser email around mid-November. Running-course baggage drop is available around 6:15–10:00am, not automatically for the afternoon orienteering event. Use Ocean Park MTR Station to reach the entrance, wear the bib visibly and follow event marshals. The park map pin indicates the attraction generally and not a surveyed starting mat.
Edition warning: Ocean Park Conservation Foundation’s older web page describes a separate race held on 25 January 2026. This entry uses the later, updated 13 December 2026 Run2gather organiser registration announcement.
