Start your New Year in a healthy and exciting way with the HK50 West, a trail running and hiking event taking place on January 25, 2025, in Shing Mun, Hong Kong. This event is the third race in the HK50 Trail Run & Hike series, designed to keep your body active and healthy.
Participants will face a challenging route that begins with a hike up Tai Mo Shan, the tallest mountain in Hong Kong, standing at nearly 1,000 meters. After reaching the summit, the course continues with a downhill trail toward Tai Lam, specifically designed for the ultra category. This race not only tests physical endurance but also offers the opportunity to enjoy the stunning natural beauty of Hong Kong.
Interestingly, the event is not limited to runners. Participants who prefer to explore the trail at a walking pace are also welcome. This inclusivity makes HK50 West an event suitable for individuals with varying levels of physical fitness.
The event will kick off at Shing Mun Reservoir Catchwater in Tsuen Wan, which is just a two-minute walk from the Shing Mun Pineapple Dam minibus stop. With distance options of 50 km, 25 km, and 11 km, participants can choose the challenge that best suits their ability. The race is also recognized by the International Trail Running Association (ITRA), offering 3 ITRA index points for the 55 km category and 1 point for the 25 km category.
