Event Detail

The second Adi Kailash Parikrama Run brings an ambitious running programme to the Vyas Valley of Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh district. Presented by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board and Run2live, this mountain event uses Gunji village as its base at approximately 3,200 metres above sea level. The running categories take place on 24 and 25 October 2026; the associated mountain-bike challenge on 26 October is a separate discipline.

Courses and running programme

On Saturday 24 October, the flagship 70K ultra starts at Jyolingkong, approximately 4,600 metres above sea level, and finishes in Gunji. The 42K begins and ends at Gunji on the same day. On Sunday 25 October, runners tackle the 21K, 10K and 5K, all starting and finishing at Gunji. Organiser cut-offs are 14 hours for 70K, eight hours for 42K, four hours for 21K, two hours for 10K and one hour for 5K. Competitors should check their own category-specific briefing for flag-off details, which are not consistently published on the official entry page.

Mandatory participation conditions

This is a remote high-altitude event with strict preparation requirements. The 70K, 42K and 21K each have prior-race qualification rules. All entrants must carry photo identification and a medical certificate issued by an MBBS doctor within 15 days before the event. An Inner Line Permit is essential for access to the border valley; the tourism department says it will arrange this for participants.

Early arrival at Gunji is mandatory: 20 October for 70K, 21 October for 42K, and 22 October for the 21K, 10K and 5K. A help desk is planned in Dharchula. The organiser says transport from Dharchula to Gunji is available at participants' own cost, as are accommodation and meals. Runners must plan for altitude and challenging mountain travel rather than expect city-race logistics.

Entry status

Registration is closed; the published deadline was 10 October 2026. The quoted entry fees exclude GST and platform charges. The running events close on 25 October, while mountain-bike cycling takes place on 26 October. The map pin identifies Gunji, not the higher Jyolingkong ultra start. See the official race information and registration page for the full eligibility and route details.
