Sekhon Indian Air Force Marathon Bengaluru 2026

Staged at Air Force Station Yelahanka on 4 October 2026, the Bengaluru edition of the Sekhon Indian Air Force Marathon is an Indian Air Force tribute run honouring Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, PVC. The event brings Armed Forces personnel, families and civilian runners together for timed road races inside and around the Yelahanka base, with race management by TE Sports.

The programme is led by the 21.1K half marathon at 05:45, followed by the 10K at 06:10, 5K at 06:25 and a dedicated 2K Divyang category at 06:40. The organiser publishes current route maps for the race distances, with hydration points approximately every 2 km and medical support positioned around the courses. The 21.1K is open from age 15, the 10K from age 12, the 5K has no stated age limit, and the 2K is reserved for participants holding a Divyang card.

Race-day access is more controlled than at a typical city road race because the venue is an operational Air Force station. Assembly and gate opening begin at 04:30. Participants must carry their original valid ID or Aadhaar together with their bib, and the organiser states that entry gates close 20 minutes before each flag-off. A baggage locker facility is available at the venue.

Bib collection is mandatory before race day. General participants collect on 2 and 3 October from their selected Decathlon location on Brigade Road or New Airport Road, while Armed Forces personnel and families have collection options on 1 and 2 October including AFS Yelahanka and HQ Training Command. Original Defence or Dependent ID is required for the defence-rate category.

The event provides race-day hydration, post-race refreshments, participant apparel, medals and digital completion certificates, with cash awards across eligible podium and age categories. Registration is now closed, so runners already entered should concentrate on bib collection, access requirements and arriving early enough for the strict gate timings.
