Tekion Malnad Ultra 2026

Tekion Malnad Ultra 2026 is the 10th edition of the established trail-running event based around Mallanduru in Karnataka's Chikkamagaluru coffee country. ITRA lists the event for Saturday, 28 November 2026, with four solo formats: 30K, 50K Day, 50K Night and 100K. The courses use rolling plantation trails in the Western Ghats, with ITRA describing the 100K as more than 95% jeep and walking trails through coffee estates.

The 100K is the headline race. It starts at 06:30 IST, covers two laps of the 50K loop, climbs about 3,410 metres and has a 21-hour limit, with runners required to begin lap two by 16:30 and pass 88K by 01:30. Finishers can apply for the Western States Endurance Run 2028 lottery. The 50K Day starts at 07:00 with a 10-hour limit, while the 50K Night uses the same loop from 16:30 and has an 11-hour limit. The 30K starts at 07:30, gains about 951 metres and allows six hours. Headlamps are mandatory for 50K Night runners and for 100K runners on the second loop.

Aid stations are placed roughly every 7-9 km and provide water, hydration drink, simple food and basic first aid. All runners must carry their own bottle or hydration pack. A medical tent operates at the start/finish, with ambulances stationed at major junctions. A baggage counter is available at the race hub, and 100K runners can access a drop bag after their first 50K lap.

Registration runs to 1 November or until category limits are reached, with proof of qualification due by 7 November. As of 1 October, the organiser marks 30K and both 50K categories closed while 100K remains available. Fees are INR 3,000 for 30K, INR 4,000 for either 50K and INR 5,000 for 100K.

Preferred bib collection is at The Estate Cafe, Mallanduru, from 12:00 to 18:00 on Friday, 27 November. Race-day pickup is also available from the start-area helpdesk 90 minutes before the runner's start. Personal ID and a signed indemnity are required, and proxy collection is not allowed. Official finishers receive a medal and downloadable timing certificate, with event photographs later published free of charge.
