Guwahati Marathon 2026 - Assam

The third Guwahati Marathon takes place on Sunday 29 November 2026 in Assam's largest city. Organised by Paper Mache Pvt Ltd, the race has grown into an important road-running meeting point for Northeast India. The organiser reports more than 4,500 runners from 22 Indian states taking part in its second edition in 2025 and promotes the full-marathon course as AIMS certified. The 2026 event brings together longer-distance competition and a family-friendly community run.

Choose your distance

The official programme has a 42.195K marathon, 21.097K half marathon, 10K City Run, and 5K Joy Run & Walk. The marathon and half marathon are open to participants aged 18 and above, while the timed 10K is open from age 12. The 5K is a non-competitive, all-ages option without official timing. The organiser advertises separate women's and men's age-group podiums for the three competitive distances, although prize-money figures have yet to be published.

Planning the race

The 2026 registration listing identifies Nalapara, Guwahati, as the event area. The organiser's official 2026 route-map page says detailed routes are still being finalised, and its race-day information has placeholders for the exact assembly point, reporting instructions, parking and bib collection. The map pin is therefore indicative of the Nalapara/Sarusajai area, not a confirmed start-line entrance. An external current-edition race listing indicates an approximately 04:00 IST race start; participants should confirm their own category's flag-off with the organiser once final instructions are released.

Guwahati's setting on the Brahmaputra and its connections with running clubs, universities and corporate teams are part of the event's appeal. Entrants travelling from outside Assam should allow time for early-morning transport and review the final road closures before choosing accommodation or planning their arrival.

Entry and race support

The organiser's published standard entry fees are ₹1,600 for the marathon, ₹1,400 for the half, ₹1,200 for 10K and ₹1,000 for the 5K. Advertised inclusions cover a finisher medal, event jersey, refreshments, medical assistance, merchandise and a kit bag; official timing and results apply only to the competitive categories. The organiser prohibits bib transfers and requires participants to follow race-official instructions. Consult the live event page and entry checkout for any updates to availability, prices, timings, bib collection and course arrangements.
