Sahyadri Hills Marathon Shiposhi 2026

The first Sahyadri Hills Marathon takes place on Sunday 15 November 2026 in Shiposhi, Lanja taluka, Ratnagiri district, Maharashtra. Organised by the Shiposhi Alumni Vichar Manch alongside the 1990-91 alumni of Nyaymurti V. V. Athalye Vidyamandir and Junior College, this inaugural village road race supports Marathi language, Marathi-medium schooling and environmental awareness.

The event starts and finishes at Shri Dev Gangeshwar Temple at 06:00 India time. Its half marathon heads through Shiposhi, Salpe, Kochari, Chinchurti and Kelavali before returning to the village. The 10 km route passes via Salpe and Kochari, while the 5 km fun run follows a shorter village course including Salpe Boudhawadi. The organiser describes these as road races, not mountain trail routes.

The programme includes a 21.1 km half marathon for ages 18+, a 10 km race for ages 16+ and a 5 km fun run for ages 9+. The official organiser document advertises cash prizes for open men's and women's categories in the longer distances. All participants are promised a medal and certificate, while the published category perks also mention race T-shirts. Organisers plan water and oral rehydration supplies with first aid along the route, ambulance cover and accident insurance.

The official registration partner is Alpha Racing Solution. Visitors travelling from outside Shiposhi should confirm local transport, collection instructions and any food or accommodation arrangements directly with organisers; the event information mentions a separate charge for participant accommodation and meals. The Marathi-language registration page is the authoritative source for late changes.
