Event Detail
The 61st Ito Orange Beach Marathon is Ito City’s long-running winter road race, staged on the Sagami Bay waterfront as part of the city’s health-resort programme. The 2027 edition returns on Sunday 17 January with 10K, 5K and 2K races, including age-group and family divisions, starting and finishing at Ito City Tourist Hall on the National Route 135 bypass.
The course follows the Ito Orange Beach waterfront on a largely flat coastal alignment with limited climbing and views across Sagami Bay. Most of the route uses four traffic-controlled lanes. The organiser notes that part of the 2K course will use two lanes because of road works. Capacity is 1,000 runners for the 10K, 1,000 for the 5K and 700 for the 2K.
Starts are staggered by event and runner block: 10K at 09:20, 5K at 09:32 and 2K at 09:39. Published limits are 90, 50 and 30 minutes respectively. Start blocks are allocated using each runner’s declared target time to improve race flow.
Entries run from 15 September to 9 November 2026, with categories able to close earlier if capacity is reached. Race numbers and timing devices are sent in advance and must be brought on race day. Public transport is recommended because JR Ito Station is about a 15-minute walk from the venue and temporary parking is limited.
