Event Detail

Naniwa Yodogawa Marathon 2027 brings two days of road racing to Osaka's Yodogawa River on 27–28 March 2027. Based at the Nishinakajima baseball-ground event area of Yodogawa Riverside Park, the programme spans family running, shorter races, a half marathon, 30K and a full marathon. The organiser advertises 7,000 places across a flat riverside programme designed for runners pursuing personal-best times as well as those stepping up in distance.

Course and race programme

Saturday 27 March features the half marathon at 09:30, 10K at 13:30 and 5K at 14:30. Sunday's programme starts with the 2K family run at 08:30, followed by the marathon at 09:30 and 30K at 11:00. All times are Japan Standard Time (UTC+9), and organisers may adjust the schedule. The half-marathon course heads both upstream and downstream from Nishinakajima; the marathon and 30K use longer repeated riverside sections. The surface is promoted as mostly flat.

Published time limits are 7 hours 30 minutes for the marathon and half marathon, 6 hours for 30K, 3 hours 30 minutes for 10K and 2 hours 30 minutes for 5K; the family run has no time limit. Pacemakers are planned for the marathon and half marathon. The organiser lists six hydration locations with water and sports drinks, plus food provision whose details will be confirmed nearer the race.

Practical arrangements

The event has 500 places for 5K, 1,500 each for 10K, half marathon, 30K and marathon, and 500 family teams. Family runners must be at least two years old and have at least one team member of junior-high-school age or older. The 5K accepts primary-school-age runners and older, the 10K junior-high-school age and older, and longer races high-school age and older.

Entries close 14 March 2027, or earlier if capacity fills. Early-bird fees apply until 29 November 2026; an optional event T-shirt and advance bib delivery cost extra. Bib collection is offered at the venue before the races, with optional collection on the preceding afternoon. Runners can use a free bag-drop area or pay for supervised storage; changing tents and temporary toilets are planned. The organiser does not provide event parking, so take the train to Minamikata or Nishinakajima-Minamigata, each approximately six minutes' walk from the venue.

Non-family timed finishers receive a finisher towel and certificate, while family finishers receive a certificate. Overall and age-group awards apply to competitive distances. Check final organiser notices for weather-related changes and updated aid or wave arrangements.
