Yamaguchi Kirara New Year Half Marathon 2027

Yamaguchi Kirara New Year Half Marathon 2027 takes place on Sunday 10 January at Yamaguchi Kirara Expo Memorial Park in Ajisu, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The annual event offers a half marathon, a hybrid team relay over the half-marathon distance, and shorter 5 km, 3 km and 1 km races, including family categories. The setting is a spacious coastal park, with the organisers using flat paved circuits of approximately 5 km for the longer event.

The half marathon and hybrid relay start at 9:00 am Japan time, with 5 km at 9:10 am, 3 km at 11:30 am and 1 km at noon. The organiser lists three hours for the half marathon and relay, 50 minutes for 5 km, and 30 minutes for the short races. The half marathon is for participants aged at least 18 excluding high-school students, while age rules differ for the shorter distances.

The event starts on the Great Lawn's paths and finishes nearby at the park's parking area. Check-in opens at 7:30 am, with runners asked to register at least 30 minutes before their race. Drinks and aid are provided, but there is no luggage storage. Participants receive an event gift of unspecified contents and a record certificate.

The park's visitor information suggests around 30 minutes on foot from JR Ajisu Station or about 15 minutes by taxi from Shin-Yamaguchi Station. Registration is listed by RUNNET from 6 October to 19 December 2026, unless capacity fills sooner. Runners should consult the organiser's latest guidance on arrival arrangements, clothing for coastal January weather and their specific race category.
