Event Detail
Kota Bharu Half Marathon returns on Saturday, 11 September 2027, bringing an early-morning road race to the royal capital of Kelantan. The event is based at Dewan Jubli Perak on Jalan Padang Perdana and is built around a World Athletics-certified course through central Kota Bharu.
The 21.1K half marathon is the headline race, with a 10K time trial also on the programme. The half marathon starts at 3:00am local time and has a 3.5-hour cut-off, while the 10K starts at 4:00am with a 2.5-hour cut-off. The organiser describes the course as relatively flat and suited to runners targeting a personal best, while the central location gives travelling runners access to Kota Bharu's heritage precinct and local food scene.
Race Entry Pack Collection is scheduled for Friday, 10 September from 8:00am to 8:00pm at Dewan Jubli Perak. Runners must bring their IC or passport and registration confirmation, and the organiser states that race-day bib collection will not be available.
Open and Masters age groups are planned for both distances. Registration is listed as opening soon, with 2027 entry fees still to be announced. The event website also notes prize money based on the previous edition, so those amounts should be treated as provisional until the 2027 prize schedule is confirmed.
The event is organised by Yayasan KB Care together with the Kelantan state government. Runners travelling to Kota Bharu should plan carefully for the very early flag-off, particularly transport to the venue before normal daytime services begin.
