Guardian KL Women Running Festival 2026

The inaugural Guardian KL Women Running Festival brings a large women-focused running event to Dataran Merdeka in central Kuala Lumpur on 18 October 2026. The organiser capped the event at 8,000 participants, and current reporting showed more than 7,000 registrations before entries closed. The programme offers 5K, 10K and 15K distances, with the 10K and 15K split into Women's Open and Women's Veteran competitive categories.

Race morning begins before sunrise. The 15K starts at 5:00am, followed by the 10K at 5:30am and the 5K at 6:30am. General cut-offs are 3 hours 30 minutes for 15K, 2 hours 30 minutes for 10K and 1 hour 30 minutes for 5K. Competitive podium eligibility uses tighter cut-offs of 1 hour 40 minutes for 15K and 1 hour 5 minutes for 10K. Runners starting more than ten minutes after their category flag-off may be disqualified.

The festival format extends beyond the races, with pre-run warm-ups, yoga, dance fitness, live entertainment and wellness, beauty and lifestyle activities in the Race Village. The public Race Village is intended to remain accessible to supporters even though the running programme is focused on women.

A distinctive feature of the 2026 event is the finisher necklace supplied to runners who complete within their category cut-off, replacing the usual medal format promoted in current event material. The organiser also provides downloadable e-certificates after the race.

Race entry pack collection is scheduled for 9 to 11 October at LaLaport BBCC. The official current site does not publish a route map or detailed course landmarks, so those details have been left unstated rather than inferred.
