Pokémon RUN 30: Malaysia Edition 2026

Pokémon RUN 30: Malaysia Edition is a two-day anniversary fun run and festival at Plaza PETRONAS, KLCC in Kuala Lumpur on 21–22 November 2026. It celebrates 30 years of Pokémon with an interactive, approximately 4 km course designed for families, children and casual runners, rather than a conventional timed road race. The run is part of Pokémon's 30th-anniversary celebrations across seven Asian regions.

A Pokémon adventure on the run

Runners begin by choosing a Pokémon partner before progressing through themed activities along the course. The official programme describes a Pokémon Gym challenge with playful obstacles, Pokémon Center hydration stops and a Pokédex search where participants find Pokémon and collect stickers. The journey culminates in the evolution of each runner's chosen partner Pokémon, bringing the games' sense of progression into the run.

The organiser uses staggered start waves, with participants assigned their personal start timeslot by email around one month before race day. Runners should arrive at least 45 minutes before their allocated start. A news briefing describes an initial wave at around 6:45 am, but no single start time applies to everyone. The event welcomes all ages, with parental or guardian consent required for entrants younger than 18.

Festival Zone and runner entitlements

The Pokémon Festival Zone is free to enter for spectators and non-runners, although participation in the run itself requires a paid entry. The festival features Pokémon pop-up merchandise, a Time Tunnel exploring three decades of games, cards and anime, photo opportunities, Pokémon character appearances and activities involving Nintendo and Pokémon products. Festival operating hours may be updated closer to the event.

Every paid running entry includes a themed Pokémon RUN 30 Runner's Kit, with a yellow event T-shirt, matching drawstring bag, one Grass/Fire/Water-themed bib, Poké Ball arm band, Pokédex search sheet, First Partner lenticular card and a Pokémon Trading Card Game booster pack. A Pikachu shoulder plushie is included only in the higher-priced package. The organiser's registration platform also lists a finisher medal, water stations and medical support. Actual kit contents and designs are subject to the organiser's final confirmation.

Tickets and important participation rules

The published fee is RM228 without the Pikachu shoulder plushie or RM297 with the plushie, with options for both Saturday and Sunday. All four ticket combinations were marked sold out on the registration platform when this listing was prepared; do not assume additional entries will become available. Race bibs cannot be transferred or used by unregistered runners, and the organiser does not allow refunds simply because a registered runner does not attend. Run-pack collection arrangements had not yet been fully announced.

Getting to the venue

Plaza PETRONAS at the foot of the Petronas Twin Towers is the event's meeting venue. It can be reached via KLCC LRT station and surrounding public transport, which may be easier than driving into the city-centre precinct during a large public event. Allow extra time for queues, bag checks, crowd control and your individual assigned wave. This listing uses approximate plaza coordinates, not an independently confirmed starting gantry.

The official course is specified as approximately 4 km. That should not be confused with an exact measured or certified 4K course, and the festival and interactive challenges mean pace-based race comparisons are not the primary purpose of the event.
