Miri Marathon 2027

Miri Marathon returns for its 10th edition in 2027, marking a decade since the event began with about 3,700 runners in 2017. The organiser describes it as one of Sarawak's biggest running events, and the anniversary edition returns to its original home at Miri Outdoor Stadium. The programme is designed for a broad field, from experienced marathoners through to families and first-time participants.

The full marathon starts at 1:00am and allows seven hours, while the half marathon begins at 2:00am with a four-hour limit. The 10K Speed Run starts at 5:00am with a 2 hour 30 minute cut-off, followed by the non-competitive 5K Fun Run at 5:30am with a 1 hour 30 minute limit. The half marathon is described by the organiser as its most popular category and uses Miri's relatively flat roads. Course maps and the final prize structure are still to be published.

Race support includes baggage storage and planned hydration stations. The organiser says the full-marathon route will have at least 14 water stations, generally spaced about 2.5 to 3 kilometres apart. Full and half marathon participants who finish within their cut-offs receive an exclusive finisher shirt in addition to the finisher medal, while all successful finishers receive post-race refreshments and an e-certificate. The 10K uses chip timing, while the 5K is a participation-focused fun run.

Race-pack collection is scheduled for 18 to 20 March 2027, although the collection venue and daily times are still to be announced. Courier collection is not available. Entry is open to Malaysian and international runners, with minimum ages of 18 for the marathon, 16 for the half marathon and 15 for the 10K; the 5K has no age limit, subject to the organiser's guardian rules for younger children.
