Event Detail
The Durirun Balik Pulau International Marathon 2026 was held on Saturday 6 June 2026 at Kompleks Sukan Balik Pulau, Penang, Malaysia. The destination road-running event combined a full marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K community run with the area's countryside identity and durian-season atmosphere.
Event history and attendance
A post-race article by Jom Kita Lari reported approximately 3,000 local and international runners at the 2026 edition. The full 42K marathon was introduced for this edition, adding to the pre-existing shorter-distance programme. Coverage highlighted Balik Pulau's paddy fields, traditional villages and a durian festival associated with the weekend. This is an event-wide reported participation figure, not a count of full-marathon finishers.
Official 2026 race schedule
| Distance | Advertised flag-off | Cut-off |
|---|---|---|
| 42K marathon | 1:30 am | 7 hours 30 minutes |
| 21K half marathon | 2:00 am | 4 hours |
| 10K | 7:00 am | 2 hours |
| 5K fun run | 7:15 am | 1 hour |
All times are local Malaysia time, Asia/Kuala_Lumpur. The source displays the 42K time with unusual formatting ('01300hrs'); 1:30 am is the best reading, but racers should refer to original timing instructions for authoritative historical records.
Historical registration and race-pack details
The published 2026 entry price tiers were RM88 / RM108 / RM128 for 42K, RM78 / RM98 / RM108 for 21K, RM68 / RM78 / RM88 for 10K, and RM45 / RM55 / RM60 for 5K, excluding any applicable administration fee. These are historic super-early-bird, early-bird and normal prices, not current offers. Race pack collection was advertised for 5 June 2026, 11 am–1 pm and 3–8 pm, at Kompleks Sukan Balik Pulau. The registration system listed a closing date of 20 May 2026, while a RaceXasia event overview listed 15 May; dates may reflect later extensions or differing updates.
The event was organised by Parlimen Balik Pulau, with Puncak Ventures SRA Sdn Bhd as co-organiser. The registration page lists contact pvmarathon@puncakventures.com.
Results and finishers
I found reporting confirming the race was held and the event-wide attendance, but no sufficiently reliable complete 2026 winners' table or finishers' list to attribute individual podiums and times. ARC deliberately leaves those unverified rather than generating plausible-sounding winners. Runners seeking their own photos can try the linked photography archive below.
