Event Detail
Royal Klang Marathon 2026 is the latest edition of Klang's city-running programme, organised by MONZO EVENTS PLT in collaboration with Majlis Bandaraya Diraja Klang. The event grew from the Klang City Quarter Marathon concept launched in 2023, when the race was created to mark Klang's elevation to city status. Its programme has expanded from 5K and 10.55K races to a full four-distance event, while retaining a focus on local heritage, community participation, health and sustainability.
The 2026 edition uses the theme Run Fearless: Move Forward and is staged in conjunction with Klang's Car-Free Day. Current registration lists the 42.195K marathon at 1:30 am, the 21.0975K half marathon at 4:00 am, the 10.55K Challenge at 6:30 am and the 5K Fun Run at 7:15 am. Official rules publish cut-offs of 7 hours 15 minutes for the marathon, 4 hours for the half marathon and 1 hour 30 minutes for the 5K. A current 10.55K cut-off is not clearly published, so runners in that category should check the final guide.
Race rules require bibs to be displayed on the front, prohibit unofficial bib transfers and allow outside support only at organiser-provided water stations. Runners still on course after the applicable cut-off may encounter roads reopening to normal traffic, and officials may retire participants who are unlikely to finish safely within the limit. Results are based on gun time.
Race entry pack collection is scheduled for 20 and 21 November, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day at Wyndham Acmar Klang. Participants should bring their confirmation slip and identification. The current event page lists an event shirt and race bib for all categories, finisher medals and e-certificates, timing chips for the competitive distances, and finisher shirts for the half and full marathon. The organiser notes that visual designs may still be finalised before race week.
The official route page still prominently displays 2025 maps, so ARC has not carried those course details forward as confirmed 2026 routing. Runners should use the final 2026 runner guide and organiser updates for the definitive course and race-day access plan.
