Terengganu Marathon 2027

Terengganu Marathon 2027 is a large East Coast Malaysia road-running weekend centred on the Gong Badak sports complex in Kuala Nerus. The organiser describes it as Terengganu's largest running event, and the previous edition was reported to have drawn nearly 34,000 participants. The 2027 programme continues with four distances and a night-to-morning format spanning 30 April and 1 May.

The first race is the 10K night run at 21:10 on Friday. The full marathon follows at midnight, the half marathon at 02:15, and the 5K Fun Run at 08:10 on Saturday. Published cut-offs are two hours for the 10K, eight hours for the marathon and four hours for the half marathon. The 5K is treated as a fun run without a published competitive cut-off. Runners in the 10K, half and full marathon are assigned to start pens, with the front pen reserved for athletes who submit an official qualifying result.

Official route material provides downloadable GPX files for the 42K, 21K and 10K courses. The current 21K and 10K route graphics are presented as AIMS-standard certified, while event tourism material describes a course experience that uses the Gong Badak area and crosses two prominent bridges. Water stations, medical support and finish-line refreshments form part of the published event support.

The event is open to Malaysian and international participants, with minimum ages of 18 for 42K, 16 for 21K, 12 for 10K and seven for 5K. Children under 12 in the 5K must be accompanied by a registered adult. International entries are offered as uncontested categories, meaning they are not eligible for official podiums or cash prizes.

Race-kit collection is scheduled before race weekend at Stadium Tertutup, Kompleks Sukan Negeri Terengganu, Gong Badak. Participants should bring identification and their confirmation details; authorised proxy collection and paid postal delivery are also supported. Registration through Howei is currently listed to close on 23 January 2027 or earlier if places sell out.
