2026 Results & Race Recap

Twincity Marathon 2026 took place across 17–18 January 2026 in Putrajaya and Cyberjaya. Malaysian newspaper Utusan Malaysia reported more than 21,000 participants across six distances: 42K, 21K, 12K, 10K, 5K and 3K. Organisers described adjustments to the city route and said more than 85% of participants finished within the permitted cut-off times. This percentage refers to the organiser's reported event-wide participation, not exclusively marathon finishers.

Marathon winners and recorded times

Men's open champion: Muhamad Haziq Hamzah — 2:41:41.

Men's veteran champion: Nik Fakaruddin Ismail — 2:48:37.

Women's open champion: Noor Amelia Musa (reported in one newspaper as Noor Pamela Musa) — 3:13:05.

Women's veteran champion: Lee Siok Chin — 3:21:58.

International women's winner: Vu Khanh Linh — 3:09:28, the fastest women's time in the published overall leaderboard.

Utusan identified the men's international winner as Kazuto Sato, while the full leaderboard lists Kazuya Sato in 2:50:36; the spelling discrepancy should be resolved from official timing data before publication as a definitive name. Results and newspaper classifications can differ because an international runner can have the fastest overall time without being the winner of the domestic open division.

How many finished the marathon?

The Checkpoint Spot-derived MarathonView database records 3,072 full-marathon finishers, including 2,569 men and 503 women. The overall median marathon time was 5:53:03. Only seven runners were recorded under three hours (around 0.23%). These are 42K statistics and should not be mistaken for the overall 21,000-plus reported festival entries.

Other distances and the event's scale

Utusan's reported entries were approximately 10,600 for 21K, 4,500 for 12K, 3,500 for 42K, 1,300 for 10K, 1,500 for 5K and 200 for 3K. These are reported participant numbers, not independently verified numbers of finishers.
