Event Detail
MagMa Trail Run returns to the hills above Danao City, Cebu, on Sunday 22 November 2026. Organised by Cebu Trail Ultra Series, this established Visayas mountain-running event combines a challenging course with a year-end gathering for Cebu's trail-running community. MagMa takes its name from the Manghilao and Mago mountains that define its setting. It is one of the series' four running events, alongside Minglanilla Trail Run, Pamutan Trailfest and Danasan Trail Ultra.
Routes and terrain
The 2026 programme advertises 16K, 32K and 50K trail categories. These are mountain trail races, not road runs: expect sustained climbing and descending on upland paths around the Masaba area. Mt Manghilao and Mt Mago are established features of the event's identity, while the specific 2026 route, checkpoints, technical requirements and exact elevation figures should be checked against the organisers' latest briefing. Previous editions have used several hill checkpoints, but their schedules and course maps must not be mistaken for confirmed 2026 arrangements.
The race takes place in Masaba, Danao City, Cebu, in the Philippines. Masaba is inland from the Danao urban centre, so runners travelling from Cebu City should allow time to locate their exact assembly point and arrange transport. The organisers' final race guide should be the authority for drop-off points, bib collection, course markings, mandatory gear, safety rules and any cut-off times.
Entries and preparation
The current 2026 event listing gives entry fees of PHP 2,000 for 16K, PHP 2,500 for 32K, and PHP 3,000 for 50K. The registration provider currently shows entries as closed or access-code only, so do not assume a place can still be purchased. Check the official race team for any updates, transfer arrangements or registration announcements.
MagMa is associated with Cebu Trail Ultra Series and is recorded in the International Trail Running Association's 2026 event listings. It is best suited to runners ready for mountain terrain rather than those expecting a flat city course. The event date is confirmed, but an exact 2026 flag-off time was not established; the midnight time shown in this draft is a calendar placeholder, not a claimed start. Reconfirm start time, course specifications and race-day arrangements with the organiser before travelling.
