Event Detail

Mt. Apo Sky & Vertical Race returns to Davao del Sur on 14–16 November 2026 for its ninth edition. Starting and finishing at Playa de Oboza Beach Resort in Santa Cruz, runners travel from the Philippine coast to the summit of the country's highest mountain and back. Organiser V2S Mountain Sports Philippines places the event within the Asia Trail Master calendar.

The 2026 programme consists of two challenging mountain ultras: 80 km (50 miles) with approximately 4,500 metres of elevation gain, and 160 km (100 miles) with approximately 10,000 metres of elevation gain. Both start at 12:01 am on Saturday 14 November, Philippine time. The shorter course has a 30-hour limit, ending Sunday morning. The longer course has a 54-hour limit, ending Monday morning. Route features include jungle trails, steep climbs, river crossings, rocky outcrops, high ridges and mountain summit sections.

Participation requires previous trail-running experience. Entrants for 80 km need a qualifying 50 km finish, while 160 km applicants need a recent 100 km result with substantial climbing. A current fitness-to-run medical certificate and specified mandatory mountain-running equipment are required. Runners must carry drinking water, a headlamp with spare battery, a protective jacket, whistle, gloves and other emergency essentials. The organiser provides six aid stations for 80 km and fourteen for 160 km, subject to race-day changes.

Race kit distribution, briefing and gear checks are scheduled for Friday 13 November, 1:00–5:00 pm at Playa de Oboza. The published registration deadline was 14 October 2026, and entry should now be treated as closed unless confirmed otherwise by the organiser. Entry fees were PHP 6,000 for 80 km and PHP 10,000 for 160 km. Finishers receive a shirt and medal; 160 km finishers additionally receive a buckle. Staff should verify transport and accommodation before arrival, especially the early-morning start and required Friday check-in.

Structured-distance QA: ARC does not currently support either 80 km or 160 km as an exact distance selector. The temporary 100K catalogue tag is for broad ultra discovery only. There is no actual 100 km race at this event; the taxonomy must be fixed before publishing.
