Event Detail

The 2026 Seoul Donghaeng Marathon is a 5,000-runner road event in western Seoul built around the idea of running together rather than chasing records alone. Hosted by the Korea Environmental Sports Youth Federation and supported by Seoul sports bodies, the programme offers a half marathon, 10K and 5K, with former Korean marathon star Lee Bong-ju promoted as part of the event.

Race operations are centred on Mokdong Sports Complex in Yangcheon-gu. The organiser's updated venue layout places the gathering and opening activities inside the sports complex, with the start and finish flow moved to the Mokdong Bridge area before runners join the Anyangcheon riverside corridor. The half marathon follows a 21.0975 km out-and-back route towards the Gwangmyeong drainage-pump-station area, while the 10K turns near the Children's Traffic Park and the 5K turns near Sinmokdong Station. These are urban riverside courses using bridges, underpasses and shared-path sections, so runners are asked to follow marshal instructions carefully around turns and cycle-path crossings.

The half marathon starts at 07:30, followed by the 10K at 07:40 and 5K at 07:50. The published overall limit is three hours, with runners beyond operational cut-offs subject to sweep-vehicle instructions. Timing uses a disposable chip, with net time recorded for results while award placings are decided by gun time.

Changing rooms, baggage storage, water support, medical stations, ambulances and bicycle patrols are scheduled on race morning. Participants are advised to arrive by 07:00 and use public transport, with Omokgyo Station about a ten-minute walk from the venue. Registration opened on a first-come basis on 10 August; the organiser's current entry page remains live, while cancellation refunds closed on 20 September. Bibs and timing chips are mailed to participants in advance rather than collected at a race-day expo. Listed entry fees exclude VAT.
