Event Detail
Seoul Hidden Trails International Trailrun 2026 (서울 구석구석 국제 트레일런대회) brings a mountain-running challenge into the heart of South Korea's capital on Sunday 8 November. Jointly organised by Seoul Shinmun and Korea Extreme N Sports (KENS), the event begins at Seoul Madang, outside the Seoul Shinmun/Korea Press Centre building on Sejong-daero, a short walk from City Hall Station Exit 4.
Unlike a conventional road race, the programme takes runners from central Seoul towards the trails and ridgelines of Ansan, Inwangsan and Bugaksan. The appeal is the contrast between the historic city, wooded climbs and steep mountain terrain. Both courses are promoted as ITRA and UTMB Index recognised events, rather than ordinary fun runs.
Course choices and race-day schedule
- 35K mountain trail: Starts at 07:00 Korea time. The organiser advertises roughly 2,514 metres of climbing, a 10-hour overall limit, 700 places and an entry fee of KRW 120,000. It carries one ITRA point and a UTMB Index 50K category designation.
- 15K trail: Starts at 08:00 Korea time, with approximately 877 metres of climbing, a five-hour limit, 500 places and an entry fee of KRW 70,000. The advertised UTMB Index category is 20K.
The organiser's published information also identifies an intermediate checkpoint closing time of 12:00 for 35K entrants and 10:30 for 15K entrants, so competitors should review the current course rules and checkpoint requirements rather than relying only on the finishing cutoff. The 35K is a separate, genuine race distance; ARC currently has no exact 35K distance option, so it is described here rather than incorrectly categorised as 30K.
Before travelling
Advance registration was advertised as closing on 18 October 2026 at 18:00 KST, subject to places being available. Event information indicates bib/packet collection on 7 November, 14:00–18:00, and pre-start arrangements on race morning. Check the official Naver Café event page for final pickup instructions, compulsory equipment, route amendments and any late-entry announcement.
The finish and course-control window for the long race extends to approximately 17:00. With steep climbing so close to the city centre, participants should allow for the terrain and make travel plans around Seoul Madang rather than a remote mountain trailhead.
