2nd Livetrue Taichung International Marathon 2026

The 2nd Livetrue Taichung International Marathon returns on Sunday, 6 December 2026, with a large road-running programme based at Central Stadium in Taichung's Shuinan Central Park precinct. Co-hosted by the Taichung City Government Sports Bureau and Livetrue Construction, this is the second edition, distinct from the inaugural race held in January 2026. Organisers have provided places for up to 15,000 runners across the marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K. The first edition attracted more than 12,000 participants from 28 countries, and the December event builds on that foundation with revised routes and a broader sustainability programme.

The courses and race morning

The marathon and half marathon start near Central Stadium and head towards Zhongke Road and the striking Konan Love Bridge before using roads around the Taichung Science Park area and sections of the Tan-Ya-Shen cycling greenway. The shorter races follow different out-and-back routes through the surrounding Xitun streets. The organiser has published separate course maps for all four distances; minor changes remain possible if road conditions require them.

Baggage storage opens at 05:00. The 42.195K starts at 06:00, the 21.0975K at 06:20, the 10K at 06:50 and the 5K at 07:05, all Taiwan time. The respective time limits are 6 hours 30 minutes, four hours, two hours and 90 minutes. The overall event finishes at 12:30. Marathon and half-marathon runners are allocated starting corrals according to submitted finishing times; faster corrals require supporting race results.

Runner logistics

Registration ran from 15 May to 15 July 2026 and is now closed. The marathon and half marathon also offered lower-cost eco-friendly entry packages with reduced merchandise. Participants must be at least 18 for the full and half marathons; children can enter shorter distances under the organiser's supervision and consent rules.

Taiwan-based entrants receive race materials by domestic courier, normally beginning around a week before race day, rather than collecting them at the venue. Overseas participants collect at the event service desk on 5 December, 13:00–17:00, or before 05:30 on race morning. Overseas runners should plan arrival accordingly and check the latest organiser notices.

The published course plan anticipates around 15 refreshment stations for the full marathon, generally spaced two to three kilometres apart, with water, sports drinks, bananas and basic snacks. The organiser has announced TWD 160,000 first prizes for the men's and women's overall marathon winners, alongside half-marathon, 10K and age-group awards. An associated charity initiative pledges TWD 2 for every kilometre run to community organisations.
