Event Detail

Dongfeng Expressway Running Carnival 2026 is a special one-day road-running festival in Taichung, Taiwan, on Saturday 7 November 2026. The event celebrates progress on the Dongfeng Expressway project, particularly the sections approaching completion, and is promoted as a rare chance to run in the new road environment before normal vehicles use it. The organisers hope the gathering will bring visitors to the Dongshi and Shigang mountain-town districts and encourage more people to take part in running.

Three races, one riverside base

All three categories are based at Dongshi Riverside Park. The 21K half marathon starts at 07:00, followed by the 10K at 07:15 and 5K at 07:30, all Taiwan local time. The published cut-offs are 3 hours 30 minutes, 2 hours 30 minutes, and 1 hour 30 minutes, respectively. The event has a combined advertised capacity of 4,500 runners: 1,000 half-marathon places, 1,500 in the 10K and 2,000 in the 5K. The half marathon has a minimum age of 14; the shorter categories have no general age limit, although young children must be accompanied under the organiser's rules.

Race-day timetable and facilities

The event guide opens bag storage at 05:50, with the welcome ceremony and briefing starting at 06:20. The first awards presentation is scheduled for 08:55 and the programme concludes at approximately 10:45. The organiser specifically advises that the 5K does not provide a bag-storage service, so short-distance entrants should plan accordingly.

Entry packages include an event shirt with colours assigned by race distance, a timing chip system and announced finishing items such as a medal, certificate, towel or bag and refreshments according to the organiser's entitlement chart. A NT$100 timing-chip deposit is listed separately from each race entry fee. The official guide provides further information about parking, personal belongings, race rules, race categories and race-day logistics.

Organisers and registration

The race is presented by Taichung City Government's Sports Bureau and Construction Bureau with the Fengyuan Running Association. Registration is closed on the official Lohas registration platform, which remains the definitive source for any schedule changes or practical participant notices.
