Event Detail
Dongshan River Marathon 2026 is a road-running event in Yilan County, Taiwan, with a start and finish at the plaza outside Dongshan Railway Station. Its four race distances explore the mostly level Dongshan River corridor, combining cycle paths, bridges, farmland, wooded areas and wetlands. The marathon route passes Jialiyuan Bridge, Xibin Road, Waiziwei Bridge, Qiedong Bridge, Dongshan River Bridge, Shanghe Road, Shisanfen Bridge and Xinliao Creek. The half marathon and shorter races follow sections of the same riverside network.
The event takes place on Saturday 14 November 2026. The venue opens at 05:50, followed by a warm-up at 06:10. The marathon begins at 06:30, the half marathon at 06:40, the 10K at 06:50 and the recreational 5K at 07:00. The published timetable lists a marathon finish deadline of 13:30 and a half marathon deadline of 10:40. Chip timing applies to the three longer distances, with a refundable chip deposit. The 5K is untimed.
Sustainability is a defining feature: aid stations will not provide disposable cups, so runners need to carry a reusable drinking vessel. Standard entry includes a race bib and finisher medal, with electronic certificates for timed distances. Shirts and towels are optional purchases rather than automatic inclusions. Race materials are normally mailed to domestic entrants before the event, while overseas runners can arrange race-day check-in at the event service desk. Organisers plan water points, medical assistance, marshals and pacers. After the run, participants can explore the Dongshan autumn market beside the station. The advertised registration deadline is 10 October, but the registration platform currently marks entries closed.
