Event Detail
Taichung International Marathon 2026 is an AIMS member road race on Sunday 18 October, based at Daming Senior High School in Tanzi District. The event traces its roots to the Taichung International Flower Expo Marathon and has become an established city race linking Taichung's urban edge with riverside and greenway sections.
The 2026 courses pass through the Fengyuan, Tanzi and Shengang districts. Official material highlights the Hanxi riverfront, the elevated green corridor created from former railway infrastructure and the Tan-Ya-Shen Green Bikeway. The programme includes a 42.195K marathon, 21K half marathon, 11K challenge and a separate 4K leisure walk. ARC has no exact 4.0K distance option, so the 4K is documented without forcing the available 4.2K category.
Race morning baggage service opens at 05:00, followed by a course briefing and warm-up from 05:30. Starts are 06:00 for the marathon, 06:10 for the half, 06:20 for the 11K and 06:30 for the 4K. Course limits are 6 hours 30 minutes, 3 hours 30 minutes, two hours and two hours respectively. Chip timing is used, with required timing mats and turnaround points.
Registration is closed. Taiwan-based runners receive race materials by post around one to two weeks before the event, while overseas runners collect at the venue service desk before their start because international delivery is not offered. The event also promotes waste reduction through reusable cup clips at aid stations and electronic result certificates. Finishers receive category-specific benefits, while cash awards are offered for the marathon, half marathon and 11K.
