Event Detail
BANGSAEN42 Chonburi Marathon is Thailand's dedicated marathon-only race in Bang Saen, Chon Buri, and is listed by World Athletics as an Elite Label road race for 2026. AIMS also confirms the 15 November 2026 edition. The event is built around a full 42.195 km road marathon rather than a multi-distance festival, which gives race day a strongly marathon-focused field and atmosphere.
The course starts and finishes on the Bang Saen seafront in front of Bangsaen Heritage Hotel. From the beach area it heads through Bang Saen and towards Ang Sila before using the coastal road and bridge sections, passing the traditional Ang Sila fishing community and the Nezha shrine area. The return leg includes the late climb around Khao Sam Muk and Laem Tan before the final run beside Bang Saen Beach. The route is predominantly fast road running, but the late coastal headland section means runners should save something for the closing kilometres.
The 2026 start programme uses three waves: 02:30 ICT for elite, semi-elite, Thai fast runners and Block A, followed by Block B at 02:45 and Block C at 03:00. The finish closes at 10:00, giving the final wave a seven-hour race limit. Current race guidance also lists intermediate cut-offs at 10 km, halfway, 30 km, 35 km and 40 km, so this is not an event where slower runners can simply rely on the finish-line deadline.
Race kit collection is scheduled at the Heritage Convention Center at Bangsaen Heritage Hotel on Friday 13 November from 12:00 to 20:00 and Saturday 14 November from 09:00 to 18:00. Current event guidance says proxy collection is not permitted. Race services include pacers, official timing, baggage handling, medical support, drink and nutrition stations, post-race refreshments, toilets, showers and race photography.
The current ThaiRun registration listings show the 2026 entry categories as closed, so runners should use the official event channels for any later release, protected-entry or organiser-authorised options rather than third-party resale.
